Shifting how people relate to each other
This blog reflects on learning from community‑led Systemic Action Research in Gateshead, showing that meaningful systems change depends on slowly reshaping how people relate to one another. Lankelly Chase partnered with seven community organisations working with diverse and often marginalised groups, supporting them to build confidence, collaborate across differences, and uncover shared issues. Through long‑term, flexible work, the project demonstrates that shifting relationships—within and across communities—is central to changing oppressive systems, even though the process is complex and unfolds over many years.
