Applying inclusive rigour to participatory evaluation
This article discusses the concept of “inclusive rigour” in participatory evaluation, challenging traditional, method-centric notions of rigour. The author advocates for a more flexible, pluralistic approach that embraces diverse knowledge, improvisation, and reflexivity. Using examples from the CLARISSA program, the article highlights how adaptive, people-driven approaches can help navigate complex social issues like child labour. The emphasis is on collective, context-sensitive methods to ensure evaluations are equitable, relevant, and capable of generating meaningful insights for real-world change.
