Memorialab: Dialogue, memory and social healing in the Basque Country: A methodological note

Memorialab is an initiative in the Basque Country fostering social healing by creating a collective memory through dialogue. It brings together individuals affected by political violence from diverse perspectives, aiming to build a shared ethical understanding. The program focuses on events from 1960–2011 and traces historical memory back to Spain’s civil war and Franco’s dictatorship. Memorialab seeks to promote peaceful coexistence, respect for diversity, and prevent future violence through intergenerational, community-driven dialogue.
