The Why and How of Gender-Sensitive Indicators: A Project Level Handbook
Abstract
This handbook can be used to review the main approaches to using gender-sensitive indicators, and to determine which type of indicators to use. It concentrates on gender integrated and WID (Women in Development) specific projects with an end-user/local stakeholder focus. It should be used as a companion to the more comprehensive "Guide to Gender-Sensitive Indicators", which contains fuller discussions of concepts, methods, and case studies.

Focused on the feminist ethic of listening to the voices of women whilst also locating a framework to analyse the power relations within which women's lives are embedded, the Toolkit lays out how one may use tools such as body mapping and resource mapping, amongst several others, in feminist evaluations.

This Guide focuses on ways to use gender analysis to increase the effectiveness of development programs and projects for sustainable development. Abstract
This paper reports the results of the 'Dare-to-Share Fair' held in The Hague, The Netherlands in October 1999, involving over 40 organisations. The subject of the event was sharing experiences around participatory approaches to development and learning from the field how to assist people in their development in such a way that they actually own the process.
